Exciting News - Successful Launch of My Home Life in Wiltshire.

My Home Life Wiltshire's 18-month programme of work with local care homes and Wiltshire County Council kicked off on 19 January in Trowbridge with Tom Owen of Help The Aged and all ten team members were represented, including Bluebell Lodge Care Home.

Our Care Manager, Jean Chapman was present and in addition to meeting up with the team, attendees were introduced to the Programme aims and objectives, including a review of work practices, life/work balance and the management of stress - key areas in today's working environment.

Further Programme activities are planned for the coming months and we will be keeping you updated with developments.

                PRESS RELEASE                 My Home Life

We are delighted to announce that Bluebell Lodge Care Home in Chippenham has been selected as part of the "My Home Life" initiative aimed at improving the quality of life of older people in care homes throughout the UK. My Home Life aims to celebrate existing best practice in care homes and promote care homes as a positive choice for older people.

My Home Life is led by Help the Aged, in partnership with the National Care Forum and City University. It is a collaborative programme bringing together organisations which reflect the interests of care home providers, commissioners, regulators and older people themselves.

More than 3,000 practitioners representing large and small care home providers from the independent, voluntary and public sectors have joined the My Home Life network to share best practice. In addition, National Care Forum, English Community Care Association, National Care Association, Care Forum Wales, Scottish Care and the Independent Health and Care Providers (IHCP) in Northern Ireland have all lent their support for the programme.

My Home Life Wiltshire

My Home Life is developing an 18-month programme of work with a number of care homes in Wiltshire in partnership with Wiltshire County Council. The work begins in the New Year and will support better commissioning within Wiltshire and work in care homes. Bluebell Lodge has been chosen from a large number of applicants in Wiltshire and we look forward to working with our team members. We are genuinely excited about this and our Care Manager, Jean Chapman will be playing an active role in contributing to this valuable initiative for the benefit of older people.
